Submitted by Jeff Beasley, Esteemed Lecturing Knight
During National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, students from Paradise Valley Schools, grades 4 to 7, brought their digital know-how to Phoenix Elks Lodge 335 for a special community workshop on online safety.
The young tech leaders hosted a free cybersecurity session for community members, sharing valuable insights on today's most pressing digital safety topics. Participants learned how to:
- Create strong passwords
- Recognize phishing and smishing scams
- Understand the dangers of public Wi-Fi
- Spot grandparent scams targeting seniors
- Use Multi-Factor Authentication for protecting personal accounts
This hands-on event showcased the incredible talent and leadership of PVSchools students while empowering our community to stay safe in an increasingly digital world.
A big thank you to the student presenters and to Paradise Valley Schools for partnering with Phoenix Elks Lodge 335 to promote cybersecurity awareness and digital safety.
