And The Winner Is… Derby Day Raises Nearly $3,000

What a wonderful Derby Day, both in Phoenix and Kentucky! Our big Elks Derby horse owners were Shannon Herrick, Cookie Nanni, and PER Karen Seaman, pictured with their trainer Anton Jones. Team Shanigans won $300 for 1st place, while Mint Julep and owner Cathy Maciel won best decorated horse.

We had a great turnout, fantastic hats, and happy Elks feasting on treats and enjoying games and prizes. Best of all, the Children’s Christmas Shopping Spree raised nearly $3,000 at the event. Thank you to all our volunteers, especially MC Nicole Beach and chefs Cindy Pendergrass and Sandra Bailey, for making the day special.
