Elks Lodge #335 is proud to recognize Richard Carmer as April’s Elk of the Month for his heartfelt dedication to our nation’s veterans.

Through the Elks’ partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs to help end veteran homelessness, Richard has assembled more than 113 Welcome Home Kits in the last year for veterans moving into stable housing. Many veterans arrive with very little, and these kits provide essential items such as kitchenware, small furnishings, and cleaning supplies to help them begin again with dignity.

Richard’s compassion and care for over 100 veterans has helped turn empty spaces into homes and given many a fresh start. His kindness and generosity truly embody the Elks’ mission of serving those who served our country.

Thank you, Richard, for your dedication, generosity, and for making a meaningful difference in the lives of so many veterans.
