Arizona Elks Social Welfare Committee Holds Winter Meeting, Awards $1,000 Grant

The Arizona Elks Association Social Welfare Committee held its winter meeting Saturday at the Phoenix Elks Lodge #335.
The committee’s State Chairman is Gus Noble, PER, from Phoenix Lodge #335. Other members from Lodge #335 who participated include Joan Noble, Carol Brown, Joe Brown, Becky Simons, Betty Chamberlain, Tom Schiavone, Kathy McDonough, and Mengo Darr.
The Social Welfare Committee provides grants to needy groups and organizations throughout the year. In addition, the committee assists Lodges across the state with their annual Children’s Christmas programs, including the popular “Shopping Spree” and “Clothe-A-Child” events.
During the meeting, Phoenix Lodge #335 received a grant of $1,000. The funds were presented to Linda Thompson, coordinator for the Lodge’s program.
